'His life and times'
Since his rediscovery in the 19th century, the Delft painter Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675) is considered one of the most important Dutch painters from the Golden Age.
In recent 20th century decades, more and more has become known about Vermeer's life.
Based on locations in Delft somehow connected to him, theories about the location of The little street and the location from which the View of Delft has been painted are extensively discussed.
Thirty-five works attributed to Vermeer are on display.
